For a Two story from run under IDA how does one check the shear deformation/ Distortion produced at a particular joint. I am interested in the particular result because I want to compare the analytical and experimental local mechanism.

Re: Shear Strain/ Deformation
Being a fiber-based program, the shear deformations are not modeled in SeismoStruct.
However, shear forces of the frame elements can be easily checked with the code-based checks and the performance criteria.

Re: Shear Strain/ Deformation
Thank You for you prompt response.
Let me rephrase. If I have introduced a rotational spring at the beam column joint panel based on a particular constitutive law ( moment-ration), how do I check rotation of the spring achieved at a particular stage.
Best Regards.

Re: Shear Strain/ Deformation
Only with manual inspection of the results in the post-processor.
Unfortunately, it is not possible in the current release of SeismoStruct to introduce performance criteria for link elements, in the same way that these are introduced for frame elements.
