Inconsistent Output

Post by huffte »

Once artificial accelerograms have been generated, the left-hand side of the Time Series screen reports PGA, PGV, PGD, Arias Intensity, CAV, and significant duration values for the currently selected record. There is also a button below these values - labeled View Statistics - which enables the user to obtain a report of these ground motion parameters for all generated records in tabular format.

There are differences between reported values of PGV and PGA for the selected record and in the table, at least when inches are the unit of choice in the settings. It is a conversion issue I believe. The screen value for PGD, for example, is exactly 2.54 times less than the tabular value, even though both are reported to be inches. The same is true for PGV.

Additionally, the units reported for Arias Intensity and CAV are in/sec on the screen for the selected record, but cm/sec in the table, even though the reported values are identical in both cases. I am not sure what the correct value is for these parameters.

Thanks very much.

Many thanks for the post Tim,

Indeed there is a bug in the View Statistics table, when Imperial units are used.
It will be corrected asap.
