How to model bond slip/Weak RC Joints?

Post by humam2104 »

I'm trying to verify an experimental model, there's a difference in displacements between the analytical and their experimental work.
I've learned that they didn't have seismic detailing of steel and I'm trying to implicate that in my model.
I've seen the Multi-linear curve - multi_lin link Element and its properties.
I have read the paper used to create this model (Hysteretic Models for Cyclic Behavior of Deteriorating Inelastic Structures) in the program but I don't know what parameter in the program is referring to in the study:
α
β1
β2
Mult
I'm not able to find these with this model? any help would be appreciated.
if I'm not reading the correct paper or I'm using the wrong modelling approach please inform me.

Dear humam2104,

The parameters that you mention are the following parameters in SeismoStruct
α -> Stiffness Degrading Parameter HC
β1 -> Ductility-based Strength Decay Parameter HBD
β2 -> Hysteretic Energy-based Strength Decay Parameter HBE

The Mult is not a parameter assigned to multi-linear curve within SeismoStruct.

Thank you for the reply, but I'm realizing that the multi_lin is concerned with Steel Joints and not RC joints right?
I've seen Reinhorn's report 1999 and paper 2001 and they only show steel sections. Can you confirm this for me please?

You may refer to the examples in the verification report to check how the beam-columns joints. There are models for both RC and steel joints.
Note that the SeismoStruct files for all verification models are included in the program installation (they can be accessed by the relevant toolbar button).
