Hybrid Reinforcement

Post by sara_mogahed »

Hi everyone, i tried to model simply supported beam which reinforced with hybrid bars( steel-FRP). i used the (rcjars): reinforced concrete jacketed asymmetric rectangular section to simulate that combination between two reinforcement. i tried to run the model , but it is taken long time without any responding in results. so, if you didn't mind take a quick look on it. And tell me if that my assumption is right or not? to tahe that section to model hybrid reinforcement.
there are two attachment file .The first one for verification file, and the 2nd one for seismostruct model.

Dear sara_mogahed,

The reason why you are not able to run the analysis is because you have assigned the same width for the internal and the external-jacketed section, i.e. you have not assigned jacket in this dimension. The program should have shown you an informative message about it. The fact that you haven't received the informative message is a bug and it will be fixed in the next version. In order to overcome this, you may slightly modify the section's cover thickness, i.e. assign 24,9 instead of 25. In this way you will introduce jacket in this dimension also.
