Dear Mina Rizkalla,

Please carry out a search on this forum for the term "buckling restrained".

Dear Zoi Gronti
I modeled the BRB use truss element class and the cross section is CSS (Circular solid Section)
is that a correct way for the BRB modelling ?

Also what is the best Stress-Strain curve that best fits the steel material for the BRB ?

Yes, provided that you have pinned joints at the braces ends.
Note also that, apart from the standards steel mterials, there is a special buckling restrained steel brace model stl_brb.

How do I know the 'material properties' that need to be defined to correspond to the Stress-Strain plot? Is there a sample key that I can use to follow?

How can I make sure that I have modeled (simulated) a correct BRB model element in SeismoStruct ?

In general, by checking its response in the post-processor. However, a sample disply plot is also provided in the Materials dialog box.

After modelling and running the model, as I click on the "Post Processor" tab, a warning message "Axis Maximum Value must be >=Minimum".
how can I solve it ?
(despite the model is run, no results are able to be previewed)

Dear Mina Rizkalla,

When you assign pushover phases in opposite directions the program is not able to calculate the target displacement, that's why you receive the reported error. If you uncheck the checkbox for the calculation of the target displacement, you will be able to view the results of the analysis. We will fix the bug in the next release.
Finally, I would like to propose you to use the static time history analysis when you apply loading to both directions.
