how to get the mass of the structure?

Post by bramos23 »

Hello, I am a beginner in SeismoStruct and I would like to know if it is possible to obtain the mass of the structure by floors in the program directly? If possible, can you explain how?

Thank you,

With eigenvalue analysis you can go to the Post-processor>Modal/Mass Quantities>Nodal Masses to get the masses in every node, as they are employed in the Mass matrix of the analysis.

To determine the mass of the structure by floors in SeismoStruct, follow the general procedure outlined below. Please note that this is a general approach, and the specific steps might differ based on the version of SeismoStruct you are using:

Open Seismo Struct:
Start by launching Seismo Struct on your computer.

Load your project:
Load the structural model or project you are working on.

Navigate to the Analysis Panel:
In the left-hand panel, select 'Analysis'.

Check the Outputs:

Review Floor Masses:

Manual Calculation:

Check the Manual or Help Resources:

Lastly, consider visiting SeismoStruct's official website or forums. Much software-specific queries can be addressed there, either in FAQ sections or by the user community. If there are any updates or changes to the software after 2022, you might find more accurate and timely information from these resources.
