Chord Rotation Demand

How is the chord rotation demand (angle between tangent to the member axis at the end and line connecting member end point to the inflection point) calculated by Seismostruct when the member is modeled as "infrmFB" and divided into parts using a number of integration sections? Do we need to make any post process to obtain the chord rotation? Or can we take it directly from Post-Processor-Element Action Effects-"Frame Deformations"? Thanks in advance.

Dear emreakin,

You may find in SeismoStruct's User Manual the following:
"Since you have employed inelastic force-based frame elements (infrmFB) for defining the structural elements, the element chord rotations can be directly output by (i) clicking on the Frame Deformations tab, (ii) selecting chord rotation in the direction you are interested in (i.e. R2), (iii) selecting the elements from the list, by ticking the corresponding box, (iv) choosing the results visualisation (graph or values) and finally (v) clicking on the Refresh button.".

Also the following paragraph of SeismoStruct's User Manual might prove useful to you:
"In order to avoid the need for users to carry out hand-calculations for the estimation of the capacity of the structural members, SeismoStruct provides the option to automatically undertake chord-rotation and shear capacity checks, according to the expressions defined in the supported Codes (Eurocode 8, NTC-08 and KANEPE) for the selected limit states. This can be done in the Code-based Checks tab of the Global Response Parameters page of the Post-Processor.".
