Dear AshwiniAmbadasParde,

The plastic-hinges/damage locations that are visible in the Deformed Shape Viewer of the Post-Processor just show the members' location where the performance criteria that you have selected to view, and you have implemented in the Pre-Processor, are reached. Hence, you should check if the implemented performance criteria are reasonable and correspond to your model.

When you subdivide a member to 4 sub-element, probably the best frame element type is the dispacement-based one infrmDB.
Note that the infrmDB is only suitable and accurate with short elements (e.g. element with lengths L/4 or L/5 of a member).

Define a new material for SMA:

In SeismoStruct, go to the "Materials" tab.
Click on the "New Material" button to create a new material.
Select the appropriate material type for SMA (e.g., "Steel with SMA").
Enter the required material properties for SMA, such as Young's modulus, yield strength, etc.
Assign the SMA material to the appropriate elements:

In the "Model" tab, select the elements that represent the plastic hinge region.
Right-click on the selected elements and choose "Assign Material" from the context menu.
Select the SMA material that you defined in step 1.
Define the specific behavior of SMA:

In the "Materials" tab, select the SMA material.
Adjust the material properties and behavior parameters specific to SMA, such as the shape memory effect, superelasticity, etc.
Refer to the SeismoStruct manual or documentation for the detailed parameters and their meanings.
Perform the analysis:

Set up the analysis parameters for Static Pushover or Incremental Dynamic Analysis as per your project requirements.
Run the analysis and review the results to evaluate the seismic performance of the RC frame with SMA at the plastic hinge regions.
