Re: Custom section

Dear nuttaphon.B,

Yes, that's right. The minimum grid step that you may use is 1cm.

Re: Custom section

Dear nuttaphon.B,

The Unit in custom sections is centimetres when SI units are selected and inches for imperial units. You may modify the grid step by selecting the Edit Grid Step button, available on the right side of the define custom section window.

Re: Nonlinear behavior of 'rack' element class

Dear nuttaphon.B,

You may use the rackH element type and assign a very low stiffness value to the pinned end.

Re: Nonlinear behavior of 'rack' element class

Dear nuttaphon.B,

Rack element has no fiber section.
In rackH element you may define moment rotation curves at the ends, but there is no interaction between the bending moments at the two local axes.

Re: Modelling of a Nail as a non-linear link element

Dear Cianmc345, Currently, there are 29 response curves available within SeismoStruct that may be used in a nonlinear link element. One of them that might cover your requirements is the Gen_Hyst response curve, a generic uniaxial response curve characterised by Pinching effect and by four deteriorat...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis

Dear obaidullah khan, In order for you to be able to define the frequency of output, you should take into account the initial number of increments/steps that have been defined in pre-processing and the number of steps that you want to receive in the output, i.e. in the Post-processor. You may define...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis

Dear obaidullah khan, The problem is that the output file is too large. I ran the model as it is and the *.srf file is more than 38GB. I would suggest you to reduce the size of the output file by increasing the number of "Frequency of Output" in the Analysis Output tab, split the model to ...

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis

Dear obaidullah khan,

Please download the current version of SeismoStruct v2024-Release 2-Build 30, run the project with the current version, and let us know if you still receive the same behaviour. If you do so, please send us your model to check it.

Re: Incremental Dynamic Analysis

Dear obaidullah khan,

Could you please check if you use the current version of SeismoStruct v2024-Release 2-Build 30? If so, please check the selected parameters in the IDA Parameters tab of the Pre-Processor.

Re: Concrete Jacket Theoritical Basis

Dear Kirkaguel,

As i mentioned in my previous post, the increase in strength, stiffness and ductility of a retrofitted member results from the consideration of sections with both core, i.e. existing section, and jacket materials (concrete, longitudinal and transverse reinforcement).
