Re: Regarding adaptive pushover analysis

No, the absolute value is of no important, especially in Response Control (which is the default), where the loadign factor is automatically calculated by the program.

No, all the available sections can be found on the Sections module.

Re: Modal Participation factor and SRSS

Since the mode shapes can be normalised in different ways, the absolute magnitude of the modal participation factor and the modal shapes have in effect no meaning, and only its relative magnitude with respect to the other participating modes is of significance.

Re: Modal Participation factor and SRSS

We are not sure what you are trying to calculate.
The modal shapes can be normalised to any value, since what is really of interest is the relative (rather than the absolute) value between the nodal deformations.

Re: Buckling-Restrained Braces ( BRB ) Modelling

We checked your model. The eigensolver does not give any solutions, it seems that there is one unconnected part in your model.
This is what is giving the problem.

Re: Buckling-Restrained Braces ( BRB ) Modelling

Please make sure that the direction of the forces and phases of pushover analysis is the same with the Control Direction in the target dispacement module. If this does not fix the problem, please send the model to support@seismosoft.com.

Re: PUSHOVER ANALYSIS

Indeed, convergence problems may occur when applying a big decrease in the member's strengths, as the stucture cannot sustain the imposed lateral forces, but also the gravity loads. The target displacement is displacement level expected at the design earthquake. With ultimate displacement probably y...

Re: Pushover with 1st mode distribution

kaysisig, This is about the basics of pushover analysis and out of the scope of the current forum, which is about the use of Seismosoft's programs. Different lateral forces disitrbutions are employed in order to be one the safe side, typically two disitrbutions are proposed by the Standards. Seismos...

Re: calculate the height of the building from the period

No, unfortunately this is not possible.
The fundamental period depends on several parameters other than the height of the building.

Re: Infill diagrams

Without the details of the analysis (type of analysis, out of plane failures, convergence criteria amongst other things) it is hard to tell. The contribution is a combination of all 6 internal curves (struts + shear).
