New features are only added in new Versions of the programs. The new Releases only fix some important problems or bugs of the current version.

Indeed, the value of the expoenent of the penalty functions affects both rigid links and rigid diaphragms, but it does not affect the rigidity of the frame element offsets, which assume full rigidity.

In order to calculate the total overturning moment at the base you need to consider the moments and the individual supports, as well as the moments from the axial loads on the columns, M=(Force)x(lever-arm).

We cannot know what differences there are between your v2016 and v2020 models. However, we already checked the v2016 model that you sent us, we ran it with v2016 and v2020, and the differences between them were negligible, hence there must be some difference between the models.

I am not sure if I know of any efficient way to simulate viscous damping with link elements. I do not know whether if this is possible altogether.
