Re: Elements not showing in building modeller

Thank you for your help.

Just for the record, I got the axes of my DXF rotated with UCS command that was the cause of the problem.

Elements not showing in building modeller

Hello Seismosoft, I am currently using seismostruct 2022 commercial license. I am having some problems with the building modeller. It doesn't show the elements I am creating (columns, beams, etc). So I put the elements and nothing happens but I know they are there because when I click to view storey...

Advice on modelling infills

Hello! I have a question regarding the modelling of infills. The 4 nodes need to be in the same plane, but different size columns will have different nodes coordinates. What do you think it's the best way of modelling the infills between those nodes? Create a new node and put a rigid link? Change th...

Removing dead load

Hello, I have a question concerning the loads that some steel braces (like an X) that I modelled have. I put some braces in an existing building so they will not have any vertical forces except from the self-weight but I am afraid I didn't model it right. I noticed that I have huge loads in my braci...

Different number of rebars along the columns

Hello,

I have a suggestion, the option of modelling a different number of longitudinal steel bars in the columns. Some buildings have columns with different number of bars in the joint columns-beams and it would be easy to have the capacity of model it in the the building modeller of seismostruct.

Re: Buckling-Restrained Braces ( BRB ) Modelling

I sent the model.

Everything is in the same direction, I don't know if it's a bug or something with my model.

Re: Buckling-Restrained Braces ( BRB ) Modelling

Hello, I am having the same problem reported in this thread. I modelled a concrete structure with a truss (the truss is modelled like a truss element class) and when I run the pushover analysis it says "Axis Maximum Value must be >= Minimum" and no result is shown. If I uncheck the target displaceme...

Re: Expressions for Shear Capacity

No, I didn't find anything about 6.2a (EC2) in EC8-3. But I've read from some sources (don't know their true reliability) that the equation 6.2a (EC2) is the one we should use if an element fails to shear capacity before chord rotation... Generally the shear capacity failing happens after chord rota...

Expressions for Shear Capacity

Hello Concerning the Shear resistance of an element what are the expression used by seismostruct for an eurocode analysis? EC8-3 have A.12, A.15 and A.16 but if an element, for a SD limit state, doesn't have a deformation failure (chord rotation) and just straight shear failure it could fail for the...
