Re: Base Isolator

Dear Saitejasistla,

You may find models with link elements and isolators in SeismoStruct's Verification models and in the Sample models available in

Re: Masonry structures modeling according to chapter 11 of ASCE 41-17

Dear rezalatifi,

Please refer to Appendix H2-ASCE of SeismoStruct's User Manual so that you will be able to learn how Code-based checks are executed for masonry sections in SeismoStruct.

Re: Quadrilinear asymmetric curve - quad_asm Parameters?

Dear humam2104,

Please check the units that you use, e.g. the default units in SeismoStruct is m and kN, hence the dy(+) should be 0.0035 and not 3.5. The same for the other required displacement values.
What kind of error do you get?

Re: How to model bond slip/Weak RC Joints?

Dear humam2104, The parameters that you mention are the following parameters in SeismoStruct α -> Stiffness Degrading Parameter HC β1 -> Ductility-based Strength Decay Parameter HBD β2 -> Hysteretic Energy-based Strength Decay Parameter HBE The Mult is not a parameter assigned to multi-linear curve ...

Re: Composite modelling

Dear Mina Rizkalla, You may model composite sections by inserting more than one elements to the same nodes with the use of rigid offset lengths or, in case you use different nodes, you may use rigid links to connect the two members. If you feel that the rigid links at the two ends are not enough, yo...

Re: Seismostruct academic version limitation

Dear sohini1982, The academic version of SeismoStruct does not have any limitation regarding the number of nodes or elements that you are able to model. The only limitation of the academic version of SeismoStruct is that it supports code-based checks of up to twenty members and you cannot send suppo...

Re: Composite modelling

Dear Mina Rizkalla,

There is a number of composite sections available in SeismoStruct. Does any of them cover your modelling requirements? Because I am not sure that I understand what you want to model.
