Stelios Antoniou, Co-founder, Managing Director and R&D Director
Stelios Antoniou holds a Diploma in Civil Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, as well as an MSc in Engineering Seismology and Earthquake Engineering, and a PhD in advanced static inelastic analysis of structures from Imperial College, London. He currently serves as the CEO of Alfa Constructions S.A., being also the Director of the Repair and Strengthening Section of the company. His research focuses mainly on the seismic behaviour of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and on the development of advanced nonlinear procedures for performance-based design and assessment.
Rui Pinho, Co-founder, Technical Director
Rui Pinho graduated in Civil Engineering at the University of Porto (Portugal) in 1995 and then initiated his research career at Imperial College, in London, where he obtained MSc and PhD degrees in the field of Earthquake Engineering. He then moved to Pavia in 2001, where he has held appointments at the University Structural Mechanics Department, at the Centre for Training and Research in Earthquake Engineering (EUCENTRE, ROSE School) and at the Global Earthquake Model (GEM) Foundation. Dr Pinho has authored more than 240 publications, is peer-reviewer and/or editorial board member of 20 international scientific journals, has been guest speaker in a number of conferences, workshops and short courses, and is the recipient of a number of awards, including the 2008 EERI Shah's Prize for Innovation.
