infrmFBPH vs elfrm

Post by snensr »

I modeled a building both infrmFBPH and elfrm elements. According to the modal analysis's results periods are 1.24s and 1.45s respectively. Which one should I consider? Another issue is how it is possisble that the elastic period is bigger than the inelastic one?

Thank you

Provided that the modelling of the two models is consistent, the two periods should be very close. Please make sure that you do not change the default plastic hinge length in the infrmFBPH element.
