Trying to obtain academic license but socket error

While trying to register Seismosignal 4.1.2 during the 'trial' period (15 days left), I was given an error "Socket Error #10061 Connection Refused". My I'm running VMware Fusion with Windows 7 Pro on Macbook Pro (however also have my students running Windows 7 on Dell machines experiencing the same error). The computer (both the virtual engine as well as the native OS) is wireless connected to the internet as reflected in the "Internet Connection Status: CONNECTED" under the registration options.
Please advise on how to obtain an academic license. Thank you,
