Shear Capacity Check

Dear All,

I have noticed that when the software performs the shear capacity check adopts automatically a slope of the compressive strut equal to 45°. This assumption seems quite conservative. Is there any possibility fo modify the automatic option?

You are indeed right.
In the new v2018 release of the programs the slope of the compressive strut will be automatically calculated by the program, avoiding the very conservative assumption of SeismoBuild 2016.

Hi Seismosoft,

I am trying to identify how SeismoBuild checks the Joint Shear capacity and demand. Is there any manual or reference I can use?

Your response will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

Dear rbsce.ph,

All the equations employed for the calculation of members' and joints' capacity are available in SeismoBuild's User Manual and Help System.
