Accelerogram information

Post by kevindcoughlan »

Where can I find more information (magnitude, year, location) on the accelerograms built into seismostruct?

Dear kevindcoughlan,

Currently, and considering that the inclusion of these default accelerograms is for exemplificative purposes only, we do include only a relatively limited amount of information about these time-histories, date of event and location of recording.

In the next release of SeismoStruct (v6.5, due hopefully this month), we do plan to add some additional information about the records (as is done already for SeismoSignal, for instance), thus including date of event, location of recording, source, etc.

However, we stress that, for non-exemplificative work, we suggest users to instead retrieve accelerograms from one of the many available strong motion databases, which feature a full set of information for each record.
