Pseudo-dynamic Test

Post by florin »

Hello
I'd like to ask if it is possible to model a pseudo-dynamic test on a RC frame building in the current version of SeismoStruct?

Yes, this has always been possible, from the very first version of the program.

OK. Thank you for your answer. Could you expain how this type of analysis can be conducted because in the Help menu I didn't find too much information?

Simply get the program to do what is done in a pseudo-dynamic experimental test, i.e. apply the loading displacement time-history at the loaded nodes.

So. if I understand correctly this type of analysis is done by apllying the displacement time-history of the record (of the accelerogram) in the nodal points of the strucutre?
I assume that the displacement are applied according to a triangular pattern.

No, if you wish to reproduce a pseudo-dynamic test, you should apply the displacement time-history that was applied during the test itself.
