seismosignal software-damping

Post by fylseu »

Dear seismosoft,
Thanks for your seismosignal software and I am using it with a question. Can you tell me the type of damping used in the Elastic spectrum and Constant-ductility inelastic spectra analyses? This is initial stiffness or tangent stiffness proportional Rayleigh damping?

Thanks,

Best wishes,

Hi fylseu. This has been a question multiple times. You might be surprised to find how many questions already have answers in this forum and I encourage you, as an avid fan and user of SeismoSoft myself, to always try a forum search to see if someone else had the same question. You can actually get the answer to this one at the link below, which I travelled to using a forum search on the phrase - tangent stiffness. Best of luck fylseu.
