Analysis problem when geometric nonlinearities are included

Post by Soydan »

Dear Seismosoft,
I'm working on the 3D analysis of a precast industrial building under static and dynamic loads. Static analysis and dynamic time history analysis can be performed well without including geometric nonlinearities. But, when static analysis and dynamic time history analysis are performed with including geometric nonlinearities (by selecting "geometric nonlinearities" option under "Project Settings" and "Analysis"), the warning of "Unable to apply the entire permanent load. Analysis terminated" appears in the "Analysis Log" of "Processor". I'm using the version of Seismostruct 2018 Release 1 Build 1.
Best Regards.

Check in the post processor (Convergence problems tab) which element is giving you problems. It can be that the gravity loads are excessive for that member.
