Open spf files with text editor

Post by Alessandro »

Hi,
I don't know if it is unexpected behavior or a feature of the newest versions.
When I was using Seismostruct several years ago, it was possible to open the *.spf file with a text editor and work on it directly.
For instance, the sample file of the 1960' building you have on your website is still readable.
But by saving the same file with a newest version of seismostruct, the spf becomes encrypted.
Is that fine or a problem in my seismostruct installation?

Many thanks

Dear Alessandro,

In SeismoStruct 2016 you are not able to open the *.spf file with a text editor.
A new facility, called SPF creator, will be available in the next version of SeismoStruct (SeismoStruct 2018), through which users will be able to edit the *.spf files or easily create multiple *.spf files.
