error with infrmDBPH

Post by mela »

Hi,
i try to do a Eigenvalue Analysis with a model where beam and column are infrmDBPH; but it appear an error:
there isn't mass in any direction to apply the eigenvalue analysis.....

Hi mela. This does not appear to be a problem with the use of the infrmDBPH element type. It would seem that you simply have no mass in your model and would get this error with an entirely different element type, all other properties the same. I created a quick model from the wizard, changed all element types to infrmDBPH, and ran a successful eigenvalue analysis. Make certain you have non-zero material densities. Or if you do want to use zero-density materials, make certain you have applied loads from which to generate masses in the Program Settings --> Gravity and Mass tab. Best of luck locating the problem.
