time history analysis
time history analysis
I am performing nonlinear time history analyses of 4 Rc frame buildings. I also use "number of a story" as a variable. I have 2, 5,9 and 13 stories buildings. I apply 30 near-fault and far-fault EQ and use lumped masses and wind 30 and 50 m/s as force time history analysis. As a result, I checked ductility with only EQ and EQ+wid there small differences and a small change in total force .please could you help me in this case.

Re: time history analysis
Hi badlao,
One should not expect the same ductility and the same base shear, irrespective of the applied load, especially considering that you are using both earthquake and wind loading. Although we are unaware of the details of your structural models and your loading, you should not be surprised by such differences. The reasons for these differences is an issue that should probably be discussed with your supervisor.
