Hi Seismosoft
When I use subdivide option for a RC beam to divide it, the applied vertical loads of the beam is removed by Seismostruct?
How can divide beams without this problem? I have a lot of models and a lot of beams. I should be extract displacement of the beams at the middle, tgerefore, I should be divide all of beams, but the program remove all gravity loads.
removing loads
Re: removing loads
Dear Ahil_Anand,
The element's name changes when you select to subdivide it, that's why the applied element loads are automatically deleted. The element that you had applied the distributed load (before subdivision) no longer exists.
If you have assigned distributed loads for the beams' self weight only, then you may select to define loads from masses based on the g value within the Gravity & Mass tab of the Project Settings and you will not need to insert the distributed loads again. Please note that if you decide to define elements' self weight in this way, you should also assign the materials' specific weight within the material properties module.
