confinement for rcrs sections

Post by Ahil_Anand »

I saw a topic about a bug for calculation confinement factor in rcrs section. That post was about beams. I have a problem:
1_For modeling a beam with rcrs section, I check the reinforcement area in calculation confinment modul and I can see that the area has a wrong value. Yes, it was a reported bug. But:
2_For modeling a column, there is no problem in calculations of the program in rcrs section. It means that this bug is only for beams!! I should create several columns and beams for my thesis. But, I was confused that why the problem is appear for only beams? Can I sure that my columns present correct answer? How the bug is only for beams?

What is the post that you are referring to?
If there is a bug, the bug applies to any type of member. The program cannot make any distinction between beams and columns. A known bug in SStruct 2016 occurs in the presence of additional rebars and it is going to be fixed in v2018.
