self weight of slab and wall is considered software itself or not? i mean if i modelled slab and wall in 3D frame so i need to consider wt of both on beam as a distributed load.is it correct? would help me pls
Thanks & regards

Re: Regarding self weight
Hi Mangesh,
In the Materials module, users are asked for the specific weight of the materials, hence the dead load is taken into consideration (provided that you have selected the corresponding option in the Gravity & Mass tab of the Program Settings - it is the default option). Note that you could easily check this, if you tried a simple static analysis without other loads. If the total weight is zero then the self weight of the members is not taken intro consideration. If not, then it is considered.
Note also that, in order to avoid waiting for the answers in your forum posts in similar trivial questions, you can refer to the help system or the users manual of the program. They are both very detailed an informative.

Re: Regarding self weight
I got your point that if i modelled infill in frame then no need to apply again dead wt of wall on beam but next question is if i modelled infill on beam and i want to add distributed live load on beam then in that case how can i give the live load on beam because already infill is modelled on beam ?????
Re: Regarding self weight
Dear mangesh shendkar,
You may introduce the live load as element distributed load applied along the beam's length. The infill that you have already modelled does not limit the option of assigning element loads.
