Incrimental dynamic anlysis

Post by ramin moskochi »

Dear All,
I have modelled a 4 storey Steel frame in Seismostruct 2016 and I ran a Dynamic Time-History Analysis for specific seismic event (scale=1.0, completed successfully). Next, I ran an Incremental Dynamic Analysis for the same frame using the same seismic input applying the factors 0.1, 30, 0.1 for start, end and step scaling factors respectively.
According to the literatures,in IDA curves display Base Shear according to maximum interstory drift ratio.but may output display maximom displacements.how can i solve this problem.

Thank you in advance,
Regards

You can easily calculate the interstorey drift ratio from the displacement. It is the ratio between the relative displacements of two floors divided by the difference of their elevation, e.g for a 3cm deformation between one floor and the floor right on top of that (with dH=3.0m), ISD=0.03m/3m=0.01.
