Defining a shear hinge

Post by hosseinmasoumi »

Hi
I'm trying to define and place a shear hinge at the fixed end of a cantilever beam.
I defined two structural nodes of different names(node1 and node1*) for fixed end and another for free end(node2).

Then I restrained node1 as support and defined the link element between node1 and node1* and defined an infrmFB element as beam and applied an incremental load at node2.

I face a "Unable to apply the entire permanent load" on processor module.
Help me please

You may search this forum, and you will find several posts on convergence problems. Can it be that the applied loads cannot be sustained by either the frame or the link element? Try decreasing the loads and/or running an eigenvalue analysis.
