Dear seismosoft
Thank you so much for very good and helpful your softwares. Please below listed isolators accurate(not simplified) models of hysteresis add to SeismoStruct(link element types part).
Triple Friction Pendulum System(TFPS)
Friction Pendulum System(FPS)
Lead Rubber Bearing(LRB)
Best regards

Re: Seismic isolators accurate models of hysteresis
mohammadzadeh,
You are perfectly correct in noting that an exact modelling of the response of Friction Pendulum isolating devices is currently not possible in SeismoStruct, and that such technical feature could be desirable.
I guess, however, that the implementation of such advanced modelling capabilities may perhaps be considered of slightly lower priority with respect to other needs (e.g. parallel processing for faster analyses, elastic shell elements to model deformable slabs, etc), because of the following two factors:
- its implementation is not straighforward, since it requires the introduction of a new link element with coupled degrees-of-freedom, so that the effect of axial load variation on the response of the isolator can be duly taken into account
- the impact of such modelling refinements in the global response of a structure are not necessarily significant
Having said the above, however, the sort of new features that you request have indeed been in the to-do list of Seismosoft developers for quite some time, and will surely be implemented as soon as the necessary time will be available.
Many thanks,
Rui
