Re: total modal mass exceeding 100%

<r>Hi langxuzeng,<br/> <br/> I try to answer to your queries..<br/> A1: In order to get the total mass you just need to run an Eigenvalue analysis, then go to the Post-Processor -> Modal/Mass Quantities -> Nodal Masses, copy and paste the values in a spreadsheet and do the sum (see also the followin...

Re: static analysis(non-variable load)

Hi,
did you try to set the performance criteria for all the materials? By using these criteria you can check if the load that you are applying is leading the structure to collapse.

Re: bracing-friction damper system

<t>Dear Salvatore,<br/> <br/> 1) Your choice to model the damper using a link element with associated an appropriate response curve seems correct. Have you checked that all the nodes are connected in the right way?<br/> 2) the nonlinear force-displacement response curve formulation used to character...

Re: Dynamic time history analysis problem

<t>Dear all,<br/> probably I'm not understanding well the problem, but if you simply need to apply two different records (let's say EW and NS components of the same earthquake) at the same time, you have to:<br/> 1) load each record in the "Time history curves" module<br/> 2) define the appropriate ...

Re: Shear Reinforcement in RC Beam and Column

<t>Hi teowee,<br/> <br/> when you use a rcts section, distance d3 is measured from the bottom of the section only to put the section reinforcement. In the other cases, such as the computation of the elastic section properties (i.e EI2 and EI3) or the definition of the sectional point coordinates, th...

Re: [Basic user] Dealing with graph

What do you mean exactly? In SeismoStruct you can plot, for instance, the displacements of several nodes in the same graph. You have to check the box corresponding to the nodes you are interested in.

Re: FRP confined concrete model

Sure. For example, if you're using the common Mander et al. nonlinear concrete model you have to assign "1" to the confinement factor (-> no confinement).

Re: FRP confined concrete model

<r>Dear Abolfazl,<br/> <br/> in SeismoStruct you can only use the available materials. However, and if I remember well, other users in the past asked for the introduction of new materials, etc. Have you read the following topic: <URL url="http://www.seismosoft.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=32">http:/...

Re: new version doesn't open existing outputs

Dear lee7,

Seismosoft has produced a v5.0.5 (see a previous post), so you only need to contact them (support@seismosoft.com) in order to obtain it.
