Although we could not view the image for some reason, could it be that this is caused by the presence (or absence) of stress-recovery? (Program Settings>Elements>Carry out Stress-Recovery?

Re: how to model chord rotation for plastic hinges
Hello, 1. The selection between lumped plasticity (infrmDBPH) and distributed plasticity (infrmFBPH, but also infrmFB & infrmDB) is a subject that cannot be fully analyzed in one forum post. Both approaches have advantages and disadvantages, the main points are the following: -distributed plasti...

Re: Hinge stiffness of RackH element
Unfortunately, we cannot provide feedback on the initial stiffness of the rack element type. The stiffness of the rack depends on the shape of the section; to the best of our knowledge each manufacturer provides a diagram with the hysteresis of the cross-section. Furthermore, we have not programmed ...

Re: Fourier Phase Angles
Hello TomPaceHDR.
Indeed the ATAN(Re/Im) function is used for computing the Phase angle in SeismoSignal. The correct function along with a more refined algorithm to calculate the phase angle will be scheduled for a following version of SeismoSignal.

Re: Baseshear-displacement curve not degrade while all Nonlinear link yield
It depends on the nonlinear rules that you have applied in your model, the deformation demand on these links and the way that a possible yield in the link affects the global structural response. One possible thing that crossed my mind is that the deformation-based performance criteria (when they emp...

Re: Access violation on post processor
Please download and install latest release of the program (Release-2 build-40). Usually similar problems are found fixed quickly. If however the problem remains, please report the problem at support@seismosoft.com with a detailed description of the steps that lead to the problem and a screenshot wit...

Re: Hinge properties - DBPH approach
You can refer to all the posts in this forum regarding convergence issues. Another way is to change the parameters for the Element Iterative Strategy (Program Settings). However, note that the model is generally less stable with respect to the force-based, distributed plasticity models. Seismosoft S...

Re: Hinge properties - DBPH approach
No, the bug is only in the pre-processor; it is just the message itself that should not pop up. Nothing related to the analysis. What you are experiencing is something else: the inherent numerical instability of the infrmDBPH model. Distributed plasticity models are much more stable numerically the ...

Re: Hinge properties - DBPH approach
Indeed, this is a bug of the GUI that will be fixed in the upcoming Release-3 of v2024 of the program. The message is wrongly displayed, however this does not prevent the users from changing the infrmDBPH element class and assigning the automatic calculation of the section properties. Thanks for the...

Re: Graph Stress vrs Height
I am not sure I understand with what you mean with the comparison between internal forces and height. I note that you can monitor the stresses of the monitoring points inside the section using the Stress Points facility (Pre-processor>Output module).
